Kasey Barrett is a WNY native and litigator practicing in the firm’s Labor and Employment and Personal Injury departments. Ms. Barrett represents both employers and employees in matters involving sexual harassment, and discrimination because of race, sex, religion, national origin, age or disability.  

Ms. Barrett graduated magna cum laude from Pace University in 2007.  Upon graduation, she worked as an account manager for several years before attending law school.  Ms. Barrett graduated in 2017 from the University at Buffalo School of Law. Upon graduation, she earned cum laude honors as well as the Justice M. Dolores Denman Award.  While at UB, Ms. Barrett was a finalist in the American Bar Association’s Representation in Mediation Competition at UB, earning a bid into the ABA Representation in Mediation Regional Competition.

Ms. Barrett was also a member of UB’s NYSBA/American Arbitration Association’s Moot Competition Team. She clerked for the Hon. Thomas P. Franczyk in Eric County Court and then went on complete the Mediation Clinic and UB’s Athletic Policy Formulation and Administration externship, where she was a panelist at UB’s 1st Amendment Freedom of Expression Discussion.  Ms. Barrett also clerked for a local law firm, focusing on business and contract law for start-up and early stage companies.   
Once admitted, Ms. Barrett began working at another local law firm, where she focused on business and contract law, and commercial litigation.  Ms. Barrett also has Estate Administration experience which she acquired while at a large local law firm.  

Ms. Barrett is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York.  She is also a member of the Erie County Bar Association; Phi Alpha Delta Alden Chapter; Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society; Alpha Chi Honor Society and the New York State Bar Association where she is active in the Young Lawyers Section, Dispute Resolution Committee, and the Labor Law Committee.
