Ms. Burke focuses her practice in the area of employment and labor on matters affecting both employers and employees. She has experience litigating claims involving unequal pay and promotion, sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation under federal, state and local laws on the basis of age, race, sex, disability, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, pregnancy, sexual and racial harassment and wage and hour violations. She has represented employers seeking to enforce covenants not to compete and non-solicitation agreements. Ms. Burke has experience assisting employers with administrative charges filed with both the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the NYS Division of Human Rights. Ms. Burke has drafted numerous employment-related documents, including handbooks, severance agreement and non-compete agreements.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Burke worked with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on several complex employment discrimination cases. She has also represented corporate and individual clients in cases regarding personal injury, municipal liability, and business and commercial litigation. Ms. Burke has experience drafting complex estate planning and wealth preservation instruments, commencing guardianship proceedings, and litigating estate matters in NYS Surrogate's Court.

Ms. Burke is a member of the NYS Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association and the Wormen's Bar Association of New York. She volunteers with Girls on the Run International and the Special Olympics. Ms. Burke is fluent in American Sign Language.

Ms. Burke has presented at the NYS Bar Association Trust and Estates Law Section Continuing Legal Education and the Erie County Bar Association.

Ms. Burke received her B.A. from Syracuse University and her J.D. from the University at Buffalo Law School, magna cum laude. She is admitted in New York State (2009), Massachusetts (2008), and the Western District of New York.
