About Our Founder, Carmen P. Tarantino, Esq.

Carmen Tarantino received his Bachelor of Arts and his Juris Doctor degrees, cum laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. In 1993, he formed the Brown & Tarantino, LLP, partnership with Rochester, New York, attorney David E. Brown.

Carmen was a veteran litigator and had extensive trial experience in the defense of medical malpractice claims against physicians, hospitals and other health care professionals, as well as substantial trial experience in the defense of personal injury and product liability actions. To those of us who worked with him, he was a dynamic, generous and humorous leader, but to his opponents in the courtroom, he was a formidable foe, known for his blistering and unrelenting style of cross-examination and his eloquent and impassioned summations to the jury. His peers recognized him as an eminent local attorney in the area of medical malpractice litigation.

Carmen’s favorite hobby was bird watching. He traveled across the globe in search of rare species. His last birding trip took him to Alaska in June 2003.

Unfortunately, Carmen died in September 2004 after a brave battle with cancer, but we are still inspired by his commitment to legal excellence.
